About

The Comic:

Innocent is a story about a young man who must find his way back into the world while confronting his horrific past. Erik Carter hasn’t had a charmed life. After killing his father for attempting to molest his little sister, Erik spends the next four years of his young life in prison. Finally paroled, Erik is free but when his sister refuses to see him, he realized that his life would not return to normal as he hoped. Now on his own, with little to his name, Erik must make his way in the world and win his sister’s love back. With his best friend Brian and the new quirky friends that come with him, Erik finds out what it means to be free again and what it means to have a family.

Before it was Innocent:

This comic has been a project in the making since September 2004 when Erik first erupted into my mind, loud, angry, and twisted. Originally, Erik was a deranged psycho serial killer who had a penchant for young woman like his father before him. The orignal comic, Death by Suicide, didn’t get very far, as the only thing to fuel it had been my personal angst and drama (which wasn’t a lot) and Senses Fail’s Let it Enfold You. Anyways, the original never made it to the net which was probably for the best but instead became a little side project that sat in the back of my mind until September 2007, three years later. Now, finally it is ready for the internet- or at least the story is, not so much the art.

The Creator:

Alex Borleis is a 19 year old college student, currently attending Towson University as an Art Education major. She spends a majority of her time doing school work, working at Borders, and hanging out with her family and friends. She obsesses over Blink 182, Third Eye Blind, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Supernatural, and Harry Potter. She loves food and hates morning classes. She also runs a rather pathetic boy love comic called Meet Dan over at smackjeeves. It doesn’t get updated much.
